Clinical Nursing Support for Positive Behaviour Support Plans
At Alvarra Health & Wellbeing, our integrated nursing and behaviour support expertise allows us to take a truly holistic approach to understanding and responding to behaviours of concern. Many behaviours are influenced by underlying or unmet health needs, and our clinical nursing lens ensures these contributing factors are recognised, explored, and appropriately addressed.
Our team provides comprehensive physical health assessments that inform Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBAs) and Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSPs). This helps to identify when behaviours may be linked to pain, illness, medication impacts, sleep or sensory disturbances, hormonal changes, infection, or other health-related triggers.
We also offer ongoing monitoring of health factors that may influence behaviour, supporting early detection of deterioration and reducing the likelihood of unnecessary hospital presentations. Our nursing-informed risk management approach ensures that all behaviour support plans consider both behavioural and clinical safety risks, resulting in supports that are clearer, safer, and more effective.
By combining evidence-based nursing practice with neuroaffirming, trauma-informed behaviour support, Alvarra delivers comprehensive and clinically sound supports that promote wellbeing, dignity, and improved outcomes for participants and their multidisciplinary care teams.
